Titan Yellow is combined with magnesium hydroxide for producing an orange-colored lake that meets the requirements of satisfactory analyzing serum and urine (in some cases allowances need to be provided for calcium content of test samples). The relative speed as well as sensitivity of titan yellow also makes it attractive option of determining magnesium content.
